• This Week

    Summer Service Time 9:00 & 10:30 a.m.

    On Sunday:

Who is your family? This week we will be looking at what that means in our Christian Life. Our scripture focus this week will be Philemon 1:4-16

    Life Groups:

Have you found a Life Group yet? There are a couple of new ones coming up. Pastor Marilyn will be hosting another ladies group at the same time as youth group on Wednesday Evenings. You can contact her for more info. As well Pat and Heather Stubbert will be starting a mixed group on Friday evenings in Dartmouth. Kids are welcome to come along to the Stubberts' and you can contact Heather for more information about their group.

    Pound Party:

As many of you know Stefan and Deborah Gilbert have joined our staff in volunteer positions this year. Stefan will be our Tech Pastor and Deborah will be Assistant Pastor of Family Care. In the old days churches welcomed their new staff with a Pound Party or Pantry Shower, where folks brought items to fill the new Pastor's Pantry. Over the next couple of weeks we'd encourage folks to bring along some Pantry stuff or a gift card so we can bless Pastors Stefan and Deborah. There will be a table for your gifts in the lobby on Sunday.

    uNBROKEN VOWS:

September 20, 2014 from 9-4 pm Cornerstone will be hosting the Unbroken Vows Marriage Retreat. It is being led by Rev. Connie Stewart who is a pastor and trained marriage counsellor. The cost is $15 per person or $25 per couple. Lunch will be on your own. No matter what stage your marriage is in there will be something for everyone to learn to make your marriage even better.

It's not too late to register, for more information contact Pastor Marilyn.

    Creative Cornerstone:

Creative Cornerstone will be resuming on October 18th at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Come on out and join some like minded folks as you knit, crochet or enjoy whatever it is that sparks your creative spirit. For more information contact Angela Guptill or visit Creative Cornerstone's FaceBook Page

    CIA CHristmas Project:

This Christmas give the gift of warmth to someone in our city. We are looking for people who are willing to help those in need right here in Halifax. Cornerstone is teaming with Souls Harbour to provide sleeping bags for those who are homeless and will need them this coming winter. We know that winters in Halifax are cold, so give the gift of warmth this Christmas season. For only $20 you can give the gift of a sleeping bag and a pair of long underwear. See Pastor Ben for more details.

    Cuba Short term Trip:

Cornerstone is planning on taking a missions trip to Cuba April 21-28 20155, and we are looking for those who might be interested. The Wesleyan Church has a number of churches in Cuba and is presently building a training centre for church leaders and we can help.
A missions trip is a great way for you to step out of your comfort zone and experience God in a cool new way. If you are interested and wish to get updates as they are available let Pastor Ben know. This trip will include adults and older teens (grade 11 and 12).

    Cornerstone Gardeners:

Love to Garden? The Cornerstone Gardeners would love to have you join them beautifying Cornerstone. For more information contact Tamara Elwood

    Summer Giving:

With all that goes on in the summer it's easy to get behind in some things, hopefully your giving to Cornerstone wasn't one of those things. Our budget is based each year on the commitments made by those who call Cornerstone their church home. In order for Cornerstone to fulfil it's commitments we need everyone to fulfill theirs.
